Engineered Stone combines the beauty and strength of Quartz, one of nature’s strongest minerals. Today engineered stone is the surface choice for architects, interior designers and building professionals particularly for kitchen benchtops, laundry benchtops, bathroom vanity tops, bath surrounds and wall paneling used both in residential and commercial projects.
The surface material is composed of a minimum of 93% natural quartz and 7% bonding agent (one of the hardest minerals on earth). The vein surfaces are the most advanced technology and have been used to create the most natural looking surfaces. The advantage over stone or marble is it's exceptional durability and strength, low moisture absorption, high resistance to heat, scratching, chipping and cracking. There is also a resistance to acids, oils and liquids such as red wine and coffee.
It is non-porous and a high resistance to mould and mildew making it a very serviceable product with low maintenance.
Most engineered stones are tested to CSIRO standards with a 10-15 year warranty depending on the company you choose eg.
